Members of 13 different faith communities, including the Christian religious leaders of Cyprus gathered to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, on December 10th Human Rights Day.

The reception was attended by Colin Stewart, the chief of United Nations Mission and head of the UN Special Secretary General’s good offices in Cyprus, Ambassador Martin Hagström of Sweden and Monseigneur Mauro Lalli, the Charge D’affairs of the Holy See.
All participants had the opportunity to join via live video link, the closing ceremony of the UN OHCHR - Faith for Rights Annual March in Geneva and meet with the representatives from the Office of the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Geneva as well as the chief of the Human Rights Treaties Branch and leader of the Faith for Rights initiative from Cairo.

The reception was organised and hosted by the Office of RTCYPP as part of its annual Faith for Rights gathering on Human Rights Day. It took place at the Apostolic Nunciature (Vatican Embassy Residence) in Nicosia. The Religious Track of the Cyprus Peace Process is a unique peacebuilding initiative under the auspices of the Embassy of Sweden since 2009.
