With the charismatic, world-class maestro Carlos Kalmar. During his vast career, Carlos Kalmar has held the position of Conductor of the Oregon Philharmonic for eighteen years and has conducted the most celebrated symphony orchestras of the US, such as the Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Boston and San Francisco.
Under Kalmar’s rigorous conducting and the CySO, the audience enjoyed two romantic works written at the end of the 19th century: Antonín Dvořák’s wondrous Symphony no. 9, known as the symphony “of the New World” as well as the Overture and the Polovtsian March from Alexander Borodin’s exotic opera Prince Igor.
